Submission guidelines
Community Recommendations is a positive space. We publish recommendations, not reviews or complaints.
What we publish
- Local businesses, food spots, parks, family places, shops, services and hidden gems in the Brownsville area.
- Recommendations based on a real experience you had.
- Photos you took yourself, or that you have permission to share.
What we don't publish
- Complaints, negative reviews, ratings or star scores.
- Naming people, staff disputes, or anything that targets an individual.
- Ads, spam, links to unrelated sites, or repeated posts for the same place.
Credit and privacy
- You choose how you're credited: first name, social handle, or fully anonymous.
- Anonymous submissions appear as 'Shared by a Brownsville local'.
- We never publish your email or contact details.
Review process
- Every submission goes into a review queue before it appears on the site.
- Our team may lightly edit for clarity, spelling or length.
- Approved recommendations may be featured on Brownsville Life and its social pages.
Consent statement
I confirm this recommendation is based on a real experience, that any photos I upload are mine or shared with permission, and that I authorize Brownsville Life to use my submitted text and images on its website, social media pages, and marketing materials, with credit based on my preference when possible.
